2/18: COLLAGED FIGURE due Tuesday 2/25

COLLAGED FIGURE DRAWING
DUE TUESDAY 2/25

*You will complete one drawing for this project

*It may be helpful to refer back to the power point presentation ("Figure Drawing Tidbits") to review important information regarding this technique

Materials:
-1 sheet of large drawing paper
-your choice of application materials (pencil, charcoal, ink, watercolors…etc)

Instructions:
-You will begin by choosing 3 figures from images you find online. These three images will be cut and pasted together to create one “human” form. Please refer to power point presentation for visual examples. This can be done by hand or with Photoshop.

1.     Your first image will be used for the head, and must be taken from a photograph
2.     Your second image will be used for the torso and must be taken from an image of a painting or drawing
3.     Your third image will be used for the legs and must be taken from an image of a sculpture

-You will then execute a drawing of your collage using your drawing materials on a large piece of drawing paper

Objectives/goals
-Your finished drawing should demonstrate knowledge of basic principles of observational drawing.
-Drawings should reflect ambition and creativity. Your process should be one of problem solving and editing; carefully consider and re-consider your decisions throughout. Do not be afraid to re-work elements of your drawing
-Complexity, thoughtfulness, progress, and effort are demonstrated in your finished project.
