LIFE DRAWING I
DUE TUESDAY 2/11
Supplies
•Your choice of medium (any type of charcoal, conté crayon,
pencil, pastels, etc.)
•Full sheet of drawing paper, at least 18" x 24”
(can use tinted or black as well)
•Collection of objects or reference material
·Be
very conscious of your colors as they can greatly affect meaning
Instructions
·Set
up your still life or photos carefully. Think about the formal arrangement for
a dynamic composition
•Do some preliminary sketches to help figure out the best
set up
•Light in a dramatic fashion (if you are using multiple
photos be aware that your light source must be consistent)
You must include:
•A metaphor for death
•A metaphor for life
•A metaphor for vanity
•A metaphor for you
•Something shiny or reflective
•Something tasty
•Something that represents a personal addiction
·Something
you love
•Something you hate
*One object can represent up to two things from this list
*You can include yourself as an object
